Jake Paul exited his interview with Piers Morgan abruptly after being questioned over the legitimacy of his career, ahead of Saturday’s bout against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Paul fights for the 13th time as a professional when he faces former world champion, Chavez Jr at the Honda Center in Anaheim, live on DAZN pay-per-view.
The controversial YouTuber-turned-boxer has won five fights on the spin since a sole professional defeat to Tommy Fury, beating 58-year-old former heavyweight world champion, Mike Tyson in his last outing in November.
The 28-year-old was close to sealing a money-spinning clash with Canelo Alvarez in May and held negotiations with lightweight titlist, Gervonta Davis, however talks for both clashes broke down.
‘The Problem Child’ has outlined his plan to become a world champion, following Saturday’s clash with Chavez Jr, however Morgan did not appear to subscribe to his beliefs.
The outspoken British host told Paul on his show Piers Morgan Uncensored: “The idea that you can say on the one hand, ‘I’m a killer, I get in the ring with the best people.’
“And you get in a ring with someone, who’s literally nearly as old as me.”
Paul interrupted: “I’m not talking about Mike Tyson.
“I’m talking about Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, champions in their sports.

“Golden Gloves champions, Andre August, Ryan Borland, undefeated fighters, a former world champion on Saturday.
“Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, the son of the greatest Mexican world champion of all-time.
“I don’t know what you guys want to see.
“I tried to fight Canelo he ducked out of it.”
Morgan responded: “The problem is the only proper boxer you’ve fought was Tommy Fury and he beat you and he’s not even the best fighter in his family.”
The pair continued their fiery debate with Paul reiterating his desire for an unlikely clash with two-time heavyweight world champion, Anthony Joshua.
The 60-year-old broadcaster told Paul that he expects him to struggle to overcome Chavez Jr, despite him being the betting favourite to defeat the Mexican.
‘The Problem Child’ responded: “I think the problem with you Piers is you think your opinion matters.”

When Morgan questioned why he decided to partake in the interview given his opinion of him, a clearly exasperated Paul replied: “I’m just taking your audience to sell pay-per-views.
“I don’t give a f*** about your show, dumb***.
“This is a f***ing business enterprise.
“But the pay-per-view on Saturday June 28th, me vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

“Thank you tune in everybody.”
Paul then stormed out of the Zoom interview, with Morgan calling for Chavez Jr to produce an upset.
The 39-year-old, a veteran of 71 professional fights, has won three of his last six bouts, beating Uriah Hall over six rounds in his last contest in July 2024.
