Sampson Boxing signs Argentinean Fernando David Saucedo

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing is proud to announce the signing of former world title challenger and IBF #4 (super featherweight), WBA #6 (featherweight) Fernando David “El Vasco” Saucedo (46-5-3, 4 KOs) to a long-term promotional agreement.

A native of Florencio Varela, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Saucedo has only lost one fight (a 2010 decision loss in a world title challenge against the formidable Chris John) since 2004. Saucedo comes from a fighting family, his father, was a former fighter and his trainer before he passed away.

“It is the dream of every Argentinean boxer to fight for Sampson Boxing and I am very proud to be associated with Sampson and his company,” said Saucedo. “I will fight with all-new fire in my heart for the memory of my late father and to show my new promoter he has made the right choice.”

31-year-old Saucedo will attempt the second defense of his belt against Chile’s Cristian Palma (18-6-1, 5 KOs) on November 3 in Uruguay, on the undercard of the first defense of WBA Female Lightweight World Champion Cecilia “La Reina” Comunales.

“I am honored to be working with a great boxer like David Saucedo,” said Lewkowicz of the deal. “He has had several cancellations of big fights happen to him in the past, but now that we are working together, we’re going to put all that behind him and get him the opportunities to prove what a top-level fighter he has been for all these years.”
