Errol Spence Jr has given old rival Terence Crawford his flowers following his victory over Canelo Alvarez.
Crawford defied the odds to overcome Canelo and become the undisputed super middleweight champion in Las Vegas in September, two years after defeating Spence to achieve the same feat at welterweight.
Spence has not been seen in the ring since, but was ringside at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on Saturday to witness Vergil Ortiz Jr’s win over Erickson Lubin.
‘The Truth’ was asked by reporters for his thoughts on Crawford’s victory and the 35-year-old admits he wasn’t surprised by the result, despite the Omaha man moving up two weight classes for the fight, lauding him as one of the all-time greats.
“Crawford did his thing,” he told media.

“He looked good.
“He looked strong.
“He carried the weight well.

“I mean he looked good, I can’t say nothing bad about him.
“I wasn’t shocked because Canelo’s not a big guy anyway.
“Canelo started at ’47 and came up to 168.

“I feel like Crawford, he walks around at probably 170, so I feel like it was kind of easy for him to make the weight and he handled it well.”
“He is one of the greats for sure.”
Crawford is expected to return to the ring at March, with rumours swirling that he’ll move down to middleweight.
Spence suffered a ninth round stoppage loss to the 38-year-old in July 2023, the first loss of his professional career.
Ortiz, who faced off with Jaron Ennis after stopping Lubin in two rounds, called for a showdown with Spence to take place at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
“If I had to pick, it would be Spence,” the 27-year-old told reporters.

“That’s my dream fight.
“At the Cowboys Stadium.
“That’s my dream fight. I don’t care what anybody says about it.”
