Oleksandr Usyk has given his say on a potential clash with Moses Itauma.

After his most recent win Itauma called Usyk out.

Last in action in June, Usyk become a two-time undisputed heavyweight world champion, brutally stopping Daniel Dubois in the fifth round.

Itauma has been named a potential opponent for the Ukrainian even at just 20-years-old.

Speaking after his first round stoppage of Dillian Whyte, Itauma spoke on the potential clash with Usyk.

“I’d love to take that opportunity [to fight Usyk].”

The Brit’s coach, Ben Davison also commented on the potential matchup when he spoke to Sky Sports.

“I would know that Moses is up for it. I just think it’s a win-win.

“As much as Moses hasn’t boxed anybody like Usyk, Usyk hasn’t fought anybody like Moses, because there hasn’t been anybody like him.

“His ability to process information, ‘when I do this you’re doing that, it hasn’t even got to be a mistake but I’m picking up on that’s your reaction to that.

“When you do this, I’m going to make you pay.’

“There aren’t many heavyweights who think like that.”

Itauma has now had 13 professional fights, seeing the final bell just twice as he looks to mount a real challenge for the world titles.

Despite the calls for this fight Usyk spoke to Ready to Fight website and provided an unfortunate update on the clash.

“No, I won’t fight Itauma [in the next fight]. He’s young – always teasing me. And he said himself he doesn’t hit grandpas!

“I can’t say who exactly because negotiations are ongoing. I’d be lying if I gave you a name.”

Usyk is set to return in 2026 after confirming his intent to continue boxing in the ring after his win over Dubois.

The 38-year-old was ordered to defend his belts against mandatory challenger Joseph Parker but has since been granted an extension to negotiate this fight due to an injury he picked up.

Itauma is set to return to the ring in December with many names put forward, including Michael Hunter and David Adeleye.

He was also made mandatory for Kubrat Pulev’s regular WBA world title, but he has since announced a fight with Murat Gassiev instead.
