Dillian Whyte has reacted to Daniel Dubois’ recent knockout loss to Oleksandr Usyk

Dubois went in to the rematch with hopes of securing greatness.

‘DDD’ had big wins over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua.

He was eventually stopped however in the fifth round by the Ukrainian.

‘The Bodysnatcher’ spoke to IFLTV and explained why he believed in Dubois in the run-up.

“I gave Dubois a good chance.

“He’s young he’s fought Usyk before and he believed he had the power to stop him.”

After the rematch many were quick to criticise Dubois with former fighters such as Tony Bellew and Dave Allen who claimed he quit.

Dubois has been labelled as a ‘quitter’ ever since his loss to Joe Joyce in 2020.

The 27-year-old took a knee in the tenth round of their contest and was unable to continue.

It was later revealed that Dubois suffered a fractured left orbital bone and sustained severe nerve damage to his eye.

Whyte put the loss down to Usyk purely outclassing the Brit rather than a quit.

The 37-year-old also snapped back at those claiming he quit.

“Maybe he is carrying an injury or something.

“It was a heavy knockdown.

“Go and take a punch from a heavyweight and you’ll see.

“He got up from the first knockdown and he did try.”
