David Benavidez has made his prediction for next Saturday’s super fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.
Benavidez will be a keen observer when Canelo defends his undisputed super middleweight crown against Crawford at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, live on Netflix.
‘The Mexican Monster’ has been unsuccessful in his bid to lure Alvarez into a much-desired showdown and has since moved up to light heavyweight where he holds the WBC world title.
The 28-year-old believes his Mexican rival will overcome Crawford, who was last in the ring in August 2024 defeating Israil Madrimov to become WBA super welterweight world champion.
“I think Canelo’s going to win,” Benavidez told clockednloaded.
“Only because of the size.
“Crawford is coming up three weight classes, so I think Canelo is more of a natural super middleweight.
“This is Crawford’s first super middleweight fight.
“I’m not going for Canelo, I’m just picking him.
“I think he’s going to win.”

Benavidez was elevated to full WBC titlist in April after Dmitry Bivol relinquished the belt and he will make a first defence of his title against Anthony Yarde on November 22 in Riyadh.
The Arizona man previously told reporters including Pro Boxing Fans that he is unwilling to return to super middleweight to pursue a meeting with Alvarez, who reclaimed his undisputed crown with a points win over William Scull in May.
However, the two-division world champion claims that Saudi Arabian boxing chief, Turki Alalshikh is looking to make a fight between them as part of the four-fight deal Alvarez signed with Riyadh Season in February.

“Turki Alalshikh told me that he wants me to fight Canelo at the end of the four-fight contract,” Benavidez added.
“He said that, but at the end of the day it comes down to Canelo.
“If Canelo don’t want to fight, he don’t have to fight nobody.

“We’ve just got to see.
“I’m not going to say we’re never going to fight, so we’ve just got to see what happens.”
