Conor Benn has given his say on Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford.

Benn commented on the jump in weight Crawford is having to make to meet Canelo at super-middleweight at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday.

‘Bud’ has written his name in the history books, becoming the sports first male undisputed world champion across two weight classes in the four-belt era and he looks to go for the third of this feat on Saturday.

Matchroom’s Benn spoke to Sky Sports about the challenge Crawford has ahead of him, fighting a man who is naturally bigger than himself.

The 28-year-old referenced the lack of a rehydration clause in the Canelo & Crawford fight, something that was widely discussed in his most recent fight where Eubank Jr had one himself.

“It’s a hard one because you’ve got to say Canelo has fought at a higher level for a longer period of time at a higher weight.

“The problem for me is, the fact that he’s coming up not one division, not two divisions but three weight divisions with no rehydration clause.

“You sit there and you go well, the weight is heavily gonna play a factor, it has to.”

Benn is no stranger to moving up in weight. In his last fight he jumped from his more natural, welterweight division up to middleweight where he faced long-time rival Chris Eubank Jr.

‘The Destroyer’ gave his final prediction for this weekend’s fight.

“Do I think Crawford will be sharper? I do.

“But again, Canelo’s resume is Canelo’s resume.”

For Crawford, a win would be a career-best with many questioning his resume; including Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn who admitted he “ripped into Crawford” who claimed his career-best victory was Ricky Burns in an interview with Pro Boxing Fans.

If Canelo can provide ‘Bud’s’ first loss of his career he will add to his already incredible resume, featuring wins over great champions including Daniel Jacobs, Gennady Golovkin and Amir Khan.

Netflix are set to televise the card live on Saturday 13th September.
