Canelo Alvarez appears to have moved on from a potential clash with Jake Paul.

Canelo and Paul were on the verge of fighting in May, but Alvarez instead signed a four-fight deal with Turki Alalshikh’s Riyadh Season.

After becoming the undisputed super middleweight champion on May 3 with a unanimous decision win over William Scull in Riyadh, the 34-year-old will compete in his second bout under Alalshikh on September 13 against Terence Crawford at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, live on Netflix.

Asked whether he’d revisit a meeting with Paul, Alvarez said on Froch On Fighting: “Not right now.

“I talked about it, but not right now.”

Paul will fight for the 13th time as a professional when he tackles former world champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on Saturday in Anaheim.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer is on a five-fight unbeaten run since losing to Tommy Fury and was last seen in November, outpointing former undisputed heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, 58, who ended a near 20-year retirement.

Canelo came face-to-face with Crawford on Friday in Riyadh at the start of a three-city press tour to promote their highly-anticipated showdown.

Crawford will move up two weight classes in an attempt to dethrone the Mexican great and is adamant that he’ll hand his rival just a third professional defeat and become a five-weight world champion.

“However I got to fight, I will win,” the 37-year-old said during the press conference.

“As simple as that.

“I’m not going to let somebody else force me or tell me how to fight when I’ve been fighting my whole life.

“I won’t be running I can tell you that, but I will be doing a lot of touching.

“For sure them belts are coming home with me.

“I’m taking them.”

The Omaha man would have been out of the ring for over a year when he steps in against Alvarez, having last fought in August, outpointing Israil Madrimov to win the WBA super welterweight title.

The pair will come head-to-head at a second press conference in New York on Sunday, before concluding their press tour on Friday in Las Vegas.
