Terence Crawford has rubbished suggestions that he’s carrying an injury into Saturday’s eagerly-anticipated clash with Canelo Alvarez.
Crawford is set to challenge Canelo for his undisputed super middleweight crown at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, live on Netflix.
On Tuesday, the page Pound4Pound suggested that the Omaha man has been struggling with a shoulder injury throughout camp for the biggest fight of his career.
“Damn!! I’m hearing from a close source that Terence Crawford’s shoulder that he had surgery on has been “flaring up” in camp,” they posted on X.
“Apparently it has been a lingering issue for the past 8-10 weeks & is being monitored closely.”
Crawford is moving up two weight classes to face the Mexican great and has put on a lot more size and muscle, as he prepares to make his 168 pound debut.
‘Bud’ categorically denied rumours of an injury at Tuesday’s Grand Arrivals at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas.
“Where do I have a shoulder injury?” the 37-year-old told a group of reporters.
“I don’t know, I think people are coming up with their own antics.

“Terence Crawford has a shoulder injury, is out of shape, slow.
“They are coming up with all kinds of stuff.”
Alvarez is the betting favourite to retain his belts in his first bout since reclaiming the undisputed championship with a unanimous decision win over William Scull in Riyadh in May.

Crawford fights for the first time since beating Israil Madrimov last August to become the WBA super welterweight world champion.
Alvarez, 35, has not recorded a knockout victory since 2021 when he stopped Caleb Plant and the four-weight world champion is not ruling out a victory inside the distance.
“Could be,” the 35-year-old told reporters at the Grand Arrivals.
“In boxing everything can happen.
“Yeah [I believe I knock him out]. Why not?”
Victory for Crawford would see him become a five-weight world champion and the first man in history to win the undisputed championship in three divisions.
