Demetrius Andrade headlines special Saturday night Cinco De Mayo card on ESPN

Andrade & Cisneros on ESPN Boxing: FNF Special Edition

On Saturday May 5, the evening of the Floyd Mayweather Jr.- Miguel Cotto title bout, undefeated  2008 U.S. Olympian Junior Middleweight contender  Demetrius Andrade (16-0, 11 KOs) will meet The Contender, Season Two participant Rudy Cisneros (12-3, 11 KOs) in the 10-round main event in an ESPN Boxing: FNF Special Edition presented by Corona Extra

On ESPN2 Peter Manfredo Jr., filling in for Teddy Atlas, will be ringside with Joe Tessitore at Mohegan Sun describing the action. On ESPN Deportes, Alex Pombo and Delvin Rodriguez will call the fights with Leopoldo Gonzalez and Pablo Viruega in the studio.

Saturday’s card will air at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN2 HD, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN3 from Uncasville, Conn. The card is presented by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing.

I guess they’re hoping that fight fans will tune in instead of watching some of the pay-per-view undercard for the Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto fight. Or, they’ll be trying to capitalize on the fights who don’t want to shell out all the cash to buy the PPV, but still want some Cinco de Mayo fight fun.
