There has been a flurry of announcements made for the upcoming fall boxing schedule. Some of the biggest names in the sport, like Nonito Donaire and Juan Manuel Lopez, now have opponents and dates set. Take a look at who they’re facing and when they’ll be returning to the ring below.JuanMa will be back in action on October 1st, and he will be fighting in Puerto Rico. In his first fight since his upset knockout loss to Orlando Salido, Lopez will seek to get back to his winning ways against Mike Oliver.
On October 22nd, Nonito Donaire will be back in the ring for the first time since his huge KO win over Fernando Montiel. With his promotional problems resolved, he’ll be fighting on HBO and defending his WBC and WBO bantamweight titles against Omar Narvaez, the undefeated Argentine two division champion who will be moving up in weight for the bout.
Also announced is that on November 5th, Lucian Bute will be facing Glen Johnson from Quebec City, Canada, and Mikkel Kessler will be facing Robert Stieglitz for the WBO super middleweight belt on the same date from Copenhagen, Denmark. Of course, one week earlier, Andre Ward and Carl Froch meet for the WBC & WBA straps and the Super Six championship.
