Chris Eubank Jr has threatened to sue Eddie Hearn, despite receiving legal letters himself after comments he made at a press conference earlier this week to promote his rematch with Conor Benn.
Eubank Jr, who like Benn went to hospital altering their thrilling 12-round clash in April, accused Hearn’s company Matchroom of stopping his ambulance from leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Hearn told reporters including Pro Boxing Fans on Wednesday that he would be taking legal action against the Brighton man for his comments and the 36-year-old has since confirmed that he has received legal letters from Matchroom.
“I gave him the opportunity to say it again,” Hearn said.
“Because I couldn’t believe what I was actually hearing.
“And he says, ‘oh what are you going to do, sue me?
“Yes. Absolutely, because you ain’t accusing me and my company of things like that.
“Because I haven’t worked and my dad hasn’t worked his whole life with a reputation in the sport, that by the way for some reason you seem to think doesn’t exist, for you to make up lies about our company.
“And that will be dealt with.”

Eubank Jr beat Benn by unanimous decision and the pair will run it back at the same venue on November 15, live on DAZN pay-per-view.
‘Next Gen’ maintains that his journey to hospital was delayed and insists he will be launching a lawsuit of his own against Hearn.
“I am going to be the one that is suing them,” Eubank Jr told The Stomping Ground.
“For negligence. For incompetence.
“I was in the back of that ambulance for 20 minutes, blocked in, unable to leave.
“Unable to get through the gates they were refusing to open.
“That is unacceptable.
“It’s egregious, it’s disgusting.
“Someone has to pay for that, someone has to answer for that.”

Eubank Jr missed the middleweight limit at the weigh in before the bout and was fined £375,000 as a result, but he avoided further penalties by making the 10 pound rehydration clause on the day of the fight.
The rematch is set to be fought at 160lbs again with the same restrictions and Eubank Jr has brought in Brian ‘Bo Mac’ McIntyre to lead his corner, who replaces Johnathon Banks.
McIntyre guided the Brit to victory over Liam Smith in their rematch in September 2023 and mastermind Terence Crawford’s historic victory over Canelo Alvarez last Saturday.
