Carl Froch has given his final prediction for Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn’s long awaited rematch on Saturday.

Froch recently sat with Benn where they broke down the fight, he also has sparred many rounds with Eubank Jr.

Saturday marks one of the biggest days in British boxing as lifelong rivals Eubank and Benn clash again at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Benn seeks revenge after being beaten on the scorecards by Eubank Jr the first time around.

Froch recently spoke to Sun Sport where he changed his original prediction.

“Chris Eubank, size-wise, slight favourite, even closer favourite than last time.

“I just think he’s probably got that edge.

“I’m probably going to pick Conor Benn, because the youngness, the freshness and what he learnt in the first fight will be enough.”

Benn is set to fight at the middleweight limit for just the second time in his career.

He comes into the rematch as the underdog similarly to the first fight.

Eubank Jr and Froch know each other well from their sparring days, and ‘The Cobra’ worries for the 36-year-old, hindered once again by the rehydration in his contract, although Eubank Jr did come inside the 170 pound limit on Saturday morning, having weighed in at 159.1lbs on Friday.

“Because of Chris Eubank Jr’s age and how hard the first fight was – and how his father has reinforced the weight-cutting problem – I just think he won’t be as good in the rematch.

“I might be proven wrong, I hope I am but I don’t think he can do that again to the level he did because he really finished strong with his foot on the pedal for the last two rounds and I was very impressed with the way he did that.

“Conor Benn will improve, he will learn from that. He’s 28-years-old, he’ll grow, he’ll improve. When you’re at the age that Eubank Jr is, you don’t get better.

“From my experience, you get a bit slower, the training becomes a bit harder, the desire, it’s just harder when you’re older, because we’re governed by age, time waits for no man.

“So I think the older Chris is probably gonna struggle a little bit more than what Conor will do.”
