Ryan Garcia has made his prediction for September’s super fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

Canelo will defend his undisputed super middleweight crown against Crawford in the most highly-anticipated match-up of the year on September 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, live on Netflix.

Garcia previously trained with Alvarez when he was coached by Eddy Reynoso and has backed the Mexican great to see off the Omaha man, who is moving up two weight classes to challenge him.

“I don’t see it happening,” the 26-year-old said during a space on X.

“But he could definitely prove me wrong.

“I’ve trained with Canelo, I’ve been around him.

“Bro can really push back heavyweights.

“This is the first time Canelo is actually bigger than somebody in a long time.

“The weights are lifted off and he can fight even more freely.

“I can’t wait for the fight. I’m definitely going to be backing Canelo, but Crawford is a great fighter and he could surprise me.

“But right now where I would put my money is Canelo Alvarez.”

Alvarez was last seen in May outpointing William Scull to reclaim the undisputed championship, whilst Crawford would have been out of the ring for over a year by the time he fights on September 13, his last bout a unanimous decision win over Israil Madrimov to become WBA super welterweight champion last Augst.

Garcia has not fought himself since losing on points to WBA welterweight world champion, Rolly Romero in May at Times Square.

The Californian underwent hand surgery after the fight and admits he is eyeing a rematch with Romero, as he targets his ring return for either the end of the year or early January.

“I know what I have to do,” Garcia said on a space on X on a rematch with Romero.

“I feel like when I’m healthy and I’m 100% I know what to do and I could get it done.

“So that’s why I want my rematch, because I know I could get that job done in spectacular fashion.

“I’m projected to be back in the ring before the year closes or right after in the new year.”
