Murat Gassiev defends his WBA heavyweight world title against late-replacement, Peter Kadiru at IBA Pro 19 in Russia this Saturday.

Gassiev (33-2, 26 KOs) faces Kadiru (23-1, 13 KOs) at the VTB Arena in Moscow.

Gassiev was scheduled to defend his belt against Tony Yoka, but the Frenchman was forced to withdraw with a back injury.

The Russian champion makes a first defence of the belt he won in December with a spectacular sixth round knockout of Kubrat Pulev.

The 32-year-old previously reigned as unified cruiserweight world champion, before losing his belts to Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk recently relinquished his unified heavyweight titles and Gassiev was elevated to full world champion.

Kadiru has won nine on the spin since a sole professional defeat in 2022.

The 29-year-old German was last out in May, outpointing Senad Gashi in Mannheim.
