Gonzalez made a good start to this one, meeting Ramirez head on and forcing the Mexican to back up in the opener. Gonzalez was docked a point in the third for holding Ramirez in a headlock, and the pair traded, as they did in round four, with Gonzalez looking tired from constantly winging in punches. The fight was being drained out of the Cuban despite his bravery, and a straight left hand in round ten signalled the beginning of the end. Ramirez followed up on his success, unloading lefts and rights, before the referee had no chance but to jump in.
