Heavyweight Division Rankings Updated After Helenius-Liakhovich & Povetkin-Chagaev

Last night’s heavyweight doubleheader from Erfurt, Germany brought some excitement into the heavyweight division, along with two intriguing and meaningful fights. Alexander Povetkin took home a close decision over Ruslan Chagaev, while Robert Helenius took care of business against Sergei Liakhovich in an exciting, back and forth contest. After both of those fights, and Povetkin now being a (completely bogus) “titleholder” in the division, it’s time to revisit the heavyweight division rankings and see where everyone stands.

Both Povetkin and Helenius will be moving up following their wins. Helenius is continuing to step up the competition and deliver in a major way, while Povetkin was finally back in the ring with another worthwhile opponent, and he found the extra gear he needed to win the day in a very tight contest.

ProBoxing-Fans.com had the Povetkin-Chagaev fight even after 10 rounds. You can read our live recap of the event and both fights here.

Meanwhile, does Chagaev fall out of the top 10? Does Liakhovich find his way into the top 10 even in defeat?

Take a look at our updated rankings to see how the top 10 of the heavyweight division looks today.
