The Jake Paul roadshow moves on to Honda Centre in Anaheim on Saturday night, and he meets the faded Julio Cesar Chavez Jr over a scheduled ten rounds at cruiserweight in his latest assignment.

DAZN will broadcast the Paul vs Chavez Jr card live.

Paul (11-1, KO7) has carefully selected his opponents to date, but did suffer his only defeat to Tommy Fury via split decision over eight in 2023.

He has won five times on the spin since though, his last in November 2024.

In a barely-believable match-up, Paul took a points win against a 58-year-old Mike Tyson over eight rounds.

He now takes on former world champion, and son of the legend, Chavez Jr (54-6-1, KO34), a fighter who has rapidly declined, and has fought just once in the last three and a half years.

Since losing every round to Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in 2017, Chavez has lost three of his last seven, with the last defeat a shocking one as he was outscored by the then 46-year-old former UFC fighter Anderson Silva via split decision over eight rounds.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr withdrew after five rounds allowing Daniel Jacobs to claim victory on Friday night in Arizona.

Chavez was last seen last July, winning on points over six against the 1-0 Uriah Hall.

Prediction: This one looks like another well-picked opponent for Paul, with Chavez showing little ambition in the back end of his career. Paul can force Chavez to retire from battle at the halfway mark.

Gilberto Ramirez vs Yuniel Dorticos

A bona-fide world title fight thankfully heads the undercard.

Gilberto Ramirez (47-1, KO30) defends his WBA and WBO cruiserweight titles against former IBF champion, Yuniel Dorticos (27-2, KO25).

Ramirez added the WBO belt to his WBA one last November, as he turned back the challenge of Chris Billam-Smith in a points win, Dorticos has been largely inactive since losing his world title by majority decision to Mairis Briedis in 2020, and boxed only once in 2024, needing a minute to despatch Alan Campa last June.

Prediction: Ramirez is in form, and Dorticos has ring-rust to shake off, with this not being an ideal time to do so. I think Ramirez retains clearly on the cards.

Remaining Undercard

In further ten-round bouts, Floyd Schofield (18-0, KO12) gets a decent test at lightweight, and he’ll likely need the distance to take a points win against former world champion Tevin Farmer (33-8-1, KO8), while welterweight prospect Raul Curiel (15-0-1, KO13) should outpoint Victor Ezequiel Rodriguez (16-0-1, KO9).

At super flyweight, John Ramirez (14-1, KO9) can bank a points win over Saleto Henderson (10-2, KO7), and Victor Morales (20-0-1, KO10) can do the same against the tough Nicaraguan Rene Alvarado (34-16, KO22).

Holly Holm (33-2-3, KO9) returns to boxing after a 12-year absence, and the former boxing and UFC champion can win on points against Yolanda Guadalupe Vega Ochoa (10-0, KO1) at lightweight.

Welterweight banger Avious Griffin (17-0, KO16) can win early again, this time against Julian Rodriguez (23-1, KO14).

In eight-rounders, Joel Iriarte (7-0, KO7) should win early at welterweight against Yusuph Metu (11-2, KO8), while bantamweight prospect Alexander Gueche (7-0, KO5) can win on points against Vincent Avina (8-1-1, KO7).

In six-round action, Joshua Edwards (2-0, KO2) should win his heavyweight meeting with Dominicc Hardy (6-3, KO4) inside the distance, and Naomy Valle (14-0, KO9) can outscore Ashley Felix (7-3, KO1) at light flyweight.
