Agit Kabayel is targeting a clash with undisputed heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk in his native Germany.
Usyk will likely be ordered to face Kabayel in the near future with the German holding the WBC interim heavyweight title.
Kabayel first defends his crown against unbeaten Pole, Damian Knyba on January 10 at the Rudolf Weber-Arena in Oberhausen, but the 33-year-old believes a showdown with Usyk could fill the 54,000 capacity Merkur Spiel-Arena in Dusseldorf.
“Next time we can go in the stadium,” he told Box Nation.
“Why not? With a big name.

“In Dusseldorf.
“It’s a big, big stadium for the fans.
“We have so many people who love boxing in Germany and Kabayel is bringing the boxing arena back to Germany.
“Why not [have a fight with Usyk].

“I have so much support in Germany and in Germany, also we have so many Ukrainian people it’s easy to fill the stadium with this fight.
“My last performance was very good.
“When Usyk accepts, I’m ready.”

Kabayel won the WBC interim title with a sixth round knockout of Zhilei Zhang in his last bout in February.
Knyba is undefeated in 17 professional fights, stopping Joey Dawejko in his last contest in October and Kabayel admits he’s wary of the threat posed by the 29-year-old.
“He’s young, he’s upcoming,” he added.
“I was also in this situation.

“I was young.
“He’s never lost in his career, but I think this is very good motivation for me.
“This guy has not lost in his career. I’ve also not lost in my career.
“He’s tall. He’s big and I think this is a very good fight for the fans.”

As for Usyk, he will have to first tackle his WBO mandatory in Fabio Wardley, who secured his opportunity with a stunning win over Joseph Parker last month.
Usyk, 38, confirmed last month he will continue fighting until he’s 41-years-old and Wardley’s promoter, Frank Warren is expecting the WBO to order the clash imminently.
