It was indeed a raucuous, loud scene and a fun environment for the Khan-Peterson weigh-ins, as you can see if you watch the video above. It was a small space with not too much room for spectators, but the ones that were there made the most of their opportunity to shout, blown on horns, sing chants and generally liven things up.

Oscar De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins were there, representing Golden Boy, as were a few other notable fighters, including Paul Williams and Adrien Broner, along with former middleweight titleholder and D.C.’s own Keith Holmes.

Everybody on the Capital Showdown card was able to make weight without any issues, and everybody looks ready to go. Khan and Peterson have a lot of respect for one another, but each is eager to prove what they’re all about come fight night. Meanwhile, Seth Mitchell is ready to take a step up against Timur Ibragimov, but wants to show he’s no longer just a former college football player who boxes, he’s a boxer who’s the real deal and is on the rise.

Khan vs. Peterson takes place on Saturday night, and will be broadcast live on HBO, along with Mitchell-Ibragimov, and the replay of last week’s Cotto-Margarito II match. The fights take place from the D.C. Convention Center, and tickets, starting at just $25, are still available.
