Jake Paul is seemingly on the hunt for a replacement for Gervonta Davis.
Paul and Davis are scheduled to meet in an exhibition next Friday in Miami, live on Netflix.
The controversial clash has been thrown into doubt after Davis was accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend in a civil lawsuit filed in Miami-Dade County last week.
Paul’s company Most Valuable Promotions are yet to make a decision on whether the bout goes ahead and published a statement on Saturday confirming that they are investigating the matter.
“Most Valuable Promotions immediately initiated an investigation upon learning of the civil lawsuit filed against Gervonta Davis in Miami-Dade County on October 30th, 2025.

“At this time, we are gathering information and reviewing the details to ensure any decision we make is throughly vetted.
“We unequivocally condemn any form of violence and are committed to handling this matter with diligence and respect for all involved.
“We will make a determination on next steps once we have completed our review and consulted with the appropriate parties.
“Until then, we will not be commenting further.”
According to Sports Illustrated, Paul’s team have made an offer to Ryan Garcia to replace ‘Tank’, although Garcia’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya rejected the idea of the 27-year-old facing the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
Paul was in talks earlier this year for a showdown with former heavyweight world champion, Anthony Joshua before discussions broke down and ‘The Problem Child’ opted to meet Davis.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn had been looking at a February return for the Brit, although on Saturday he told DAZN the 36-year-old will fight before the end of the year.

Sports Illustrated have also reported that undisputed super middleweight champion, Terence Crawford has been discussed as an alternative option.
Crawford, a consensus top three pound-for-pound fighter, is coming off a career-best victory and upset of the year over Canelo Alvarez in September.

Should next Friday’s bout go ahead at the Kaseya Center, Paul and Davis will meet in a 200 pound catchweight exhibition and a winner will be announced, although the result will not go on either man’s record.
Davis, 30, has not fought any higher than 140lbs and he currently holds the WBA lightweight crown.
The lawsuit accused the Baltimore man of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Davis saw another domestic violence case dropped in August.
