Jake Paul recorded another victory at the Honda Center in Anaheim, as he took a ten-round points win at cruiserweight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on Saturday
Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) took a points win against 58-year-old Mike Tyson over eight rounds in his last outing, and had again carefully selected his opposition for this one, with former WBC middleweight champion Chavez Jr (54-7-1, 34 KOs) firmly in the twilight of his career.
Paul outworked the Mexican in the first round, and Chavez was struggling to find timing and distance, with the 39-year-old hardly throwing a punch through the first three rounds.
‘The Problem Child’ landed a combination in the fourth, where he was finally met with resistance from Chavez, who connected with right hands of his own.
Paul was getting the better of what exchanges there were, and by halfway he looked to have won all available sessions in a dour contest.
The visitor finally came to life in the eighth, landing to head and body in his best offering of the night, and he continued his progress a round later, rocking Paul’s head back with some stiff blows.
Chavez was now growing in confidence, and finishing the stronger, letting his hands go and finding plenty of success, but ultimately, he had left his charge too late, as the fight went to the cards.
Paul was declared the winner by scores of 99-91, 98-92, and 97-93 and called out Canelo Alvarez, Anthony Joshua and Gervonta Davis.

Zurdo overcomes Dorticos
Gilberto Ramirez (48-1, 30 KOs) retained his WBA and WBO cruiserweight titles on the undercard, as he took a competitive points win against former IBF champion, Yuniel Dorticos (27-3, 25 KOs).
Two scores of 115-113, and a third at 117-111 saw the Mexican keep hold of his belts.
Schofield destroys Farmer
Floyd Schofield (19-0, 13 KOs) took a statement win at lightweight, needing less than a round to take out former world champion Tevin Farmer.
Farmer (33-9-1, 8 KOs) was down twice prior to the conclusion.

Holly Holm (34-2-3, 9 KOs) returned to boxing after a 12-year absence, and the former world champion won all ten rounds against Yolanda Guadalupe Vega Ochoa (10-0, 1 KOs) at lightweight.
Welterweight banger Avious Griffin (17-1, 16 KOs) was halted in the final round of a thriller against Julian Rodriguez (24-1, 15 KOs), in a bout where both fighters were on the canvas.
