Rakhim Chakhkiev & Denis Boystov co-headline on Oct 12 in Hamburg

Fists fly again on October 12 in Hamburg at the Wandsbek Sporthalle Hamburg. Earlier this week at the Maritim Hotel Hamburg, a press conference was held to discuss the card with all of the main fighters who will be participating. This includes the number 5 ranked WBC cruiserweight contender Rakhim “The Machine” Chakhkiev, 14-0, 11 KOs, who will defend his regional strap  against Argentinean Alejandro Emilio Valori. Undefeated heavyweight Denis Boytsov will also be in action.

“I am highly motivated and am really glad to climb back in the ring. Valori is a good boxer and it is certainly an interesting fight. I will maintain my aggressive style of boxing, that’s why the fans can get ready for a show,” said Chakhkiev.

At the same time, this match will be the first for his new coach Anthony Brooks, who is delighted with the recent work of his protégé. “The training is going really well for Rakhim. Since he started the sparring, I see how hungry he is for this fight. I am confident that he can beat Valori without problems and soon compete for a world championship,” Brooks said.

The goal is a championship fight by the end of the year against WBC cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk of Poland.

Heavyweight hope Denis Boytsov 31-0, 25 KOs, meets the “Sandman” Konstantin Airich. With Airich, Boytsov has already been in the gym sparring rounds and is looking forward to the fight: “I’m happy that the far too long summer is over and it finally starts again. Now I want to quickly make 2 or 3 good fights against strong opponents and then get a Klitschko fight next, ” said Boytsov.

In women’s boxing, Lady Ina Menzer 29-1, 10 KOs,  looks to rise against the Spanish Loli “The Sugar” Munoz, with the WBO European crown at stake.  The former triple world champion featherweight is back after her successful battle against construction worker Doris Koehler in Schwerin and is ready to take back the world title.

“I’m looking forward to the fight. Nice that it goes back to a belt. I feel really good and will do my best to to help try to land a world title fight,” said the boxing lady.

Also featured is Ismail Ozen, 5-0 with 5 KOs, who will be fighting in front of his home fans.

Other matchups will be announced in the coming week. Tickets for the event in the Wandsbeker Sporthalle Hamburg are now available on all CTS ticket offices, on www.eventim.de and www.boxing.de available. Accreditations run on the accreditation form of UNIVERSE Box-Promotion on www.boxing.de .
