Southampton-based Ryan Garner headlines at the Bournemouth International Centre this Saturday, as he defends his European super featherweight title against British and Commonwealth champion Reece Bellotti.

This is Ryan Garner’s first defence of the European title, Bellotti for the first time since March.

Queensberry promote, and DAZN televise live.

Garner (17-0, KO8) first stepped up to ten-round level in August 2023, stopping Juan Jesus Artunez in three to take the vacant WBC International belt, and he defended against former British champion Liam Dillon, and the highly-ranked Archie Sharp in 2024, taking clear points wins against both.

March saw Garner go into championship class for the first time, as he took the vacant European title by winning all twelve rounds against Salvador Jiminez in Bournemouth.

‘The Piranha’ now steps up again to face Bellotti (20-5, KO15), a man having an Indian summer in his career.

After four losses in five fights from 2018 to 2021, the last a stoppage loss to Ray Ford, Bellotti moved up to super featherweight, and has won six on the spin since. ‘Bomber’ claimed the vacant Commonwealth crown in October 2023, forcing Aqib Fiaz to retire after eight rounds, and then outscored Liam Dillon to become British champion.

After widely winning on the cards against Levi Giles, Bellotti was last out in February, forcing Michael Gomez Jr to retire after ten rounds of battle.

Prediction: This is a good domestic dust-up, and it should be a competitive one. I favour Garner to pull away down the stretch to take a clear win on the cards.

Aloys Youmby vs Ellis Zorro

The undercard features rising cruiserweight talent Aloys Youmby (10-1, KO9), and he faces Ellis Zorro (18-2, KO7) over a scheduled ten rounds.

Since a one-point loss on debut in 2021, Youmby has won ten in a row, nine by knockout, and he took the vacant Commonwealth belt in his last outing, halting David Jamieson in three rounds.

Zorro was knocked out inside a round by Jai Opetaia in 2023, and then by Cheavon Clarke in eight in May last year, but returned in April to take a six round points win against Viktar Chvarkou.

Prediction: Youmby is a big puncher, and Zorro has shown weakness to the chin, so the smart outcome here is for Youmby to take the stoppage win in the middle rounds.

Remaining Undercard

The other ten-rounder is at super welterweight, where Carl Fail (10-0, KO3) can step up to this level for the first time to take a points win against Amir Abubaker (9-0, KO6).

Also at super welterweight, Mason Payne (4-0, KO1) can get the better of Octavian Gratii (8-88-4, KO4) over six rounds.

In four round affairs, John Isaacs (2-0, KO0) can outscore Christian Lopez Flores (14-50-2, KO12) at welterweight, and super featherweight, Frankie Wood (1-0, KO0) can do the same against Peru’s Cesar Ignacio Paredes (18-21-1, KO5).

Hassan Ishaq makes a debut, and the super bantamweight can record a points win against Brandon Gallardo Vargas (3-7-1, KO1).
