Vito Mielnicki’s GH3 Promotions is proud to announce the signing of undefeated Heavyweight prospect Dorsett “The Bullet” Barnwell to an exclusive promotional contract. The twenty-five year old native of Norfolk, Virginia has a record of 9-0 with four knockouts.
Barnwell began boxing at age 14 and had a stellar amateur career where became a four-time national champion as he captured Under -19, PAL, Junior Olympics and Ringside titles.
Barnwell turned professional May 28, 2010 with a 2nd round stoppage over Kareem Wilson in Norfolk, Virginia. Barnwell won his first five bouts in Maryland and Virginia before taking a four round unanimous decision over Jon Bolden on February 4th, 2012.
In his next bout, Barnwell scored his biggest win to date when he scored a six round split decision over undefeated and former world Jr. Amateur champion Joey Dawejko in Atlantic City. Barnwell is coming off a six round unanimous decision over David Williams on May 24th in White Plains, New York.
“It’s been a roller coaster”, said Barnwell.
Barnwell has been a regular in the camps of major fighters such as WBA Heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin, Former Cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev and world Heavyweight champions the Klitschko brothers.
“People who saw me in these camps were very impressed and I started getting a lot of offers. Everything I have heard about Vito and GH3 has been positive as I have talked to some professionals and amateurs who have worked with him. I expect great things to happen in the future.”
Barnwell is trained by Daniel Campbell. “I met Vito in Colorado Springs and after meeting with him for a couple of days, I knew Vito is the type of person that I want Dorsett to be with,” said Campbell.
“The Klitschko’s are getting a little long in the tooth and with the right person guiding Dorsett and us picking the right fight, one day he will be champion. This is the right time.”
Barnwell will make his first appearance under the GH3 Banner on August 3rd in Whitehall, New York.
