Conor Benn fired back at Devin Haney’s father and trainer, Bill as the war of words between the two camps continue.
Benn was pictured asleep on Eddie Hearn’s shoulder during Haney’s win over Brian Norman Jr on Saturday, where the American became the WBO welterweight world champion and a three-division titlist.
‘The Destroyer’ revealed his intentions to return to welterweight following his rematch win over Chris Eubank Jr at middleweight earlier this month.
Both Devin and Bill have dismissed Benn as a potential opponent in recent days and have instead set their sights on a unification with WBA titlist, Rolly Romero.
Bill sent a strong message to Benn’s father and former two-weight world champion, Nigel Benn, accusing his 29-year-old son of living off his father’s name.
“Oi Nigel Benn, full respect to you, proper legend,” Haney Sr posted on X.
“But your lad’s out here embarrassing your surname, mate.
“Beating Eubank Jr one time don’t make Conor a world-level fighter, does it?

“He’s still a mouthy geezer with ZERO world titles, no proper straps and not a single win that puts him anywhere near Devin’s postcode.
“Every time he talks like he’s elite, he’s just proving he’s living off your work, not his.
“All mouth, no championships.”
Benn’s victory over Eubank Jr was the biggest of his professional career to date and saw him rebound from defeat to the Brighton man seven months earlier.
The Essex man hit back at the Haneys on Wednesday, warning that he’ll knock out the new champion should they clash.

“You keep worrying about my achievements @Realdevinhaney, @BillHaney77,” he posted on X.
“The reality is you put people to sleep.
“I’ll see you soon and i guarantee I’ll staple you to the floor.”
Haney is targeting a rematch with Ryan Garcia, although his compatriot is likely to first challenge WBC champion, Mario Barrios in February.
Garcia dropped ‘The Dream’ four times in a majority decision victory last April, but the result was overturned to a no contest after Garcia tested positive for the banned substance Ostarine and was subsequently handed a one-year suspension by the New York State Athletic Commission.
