Cunningham vs Braithwaite and DeMarco vs Adjaho highlight Saturday night boxing action
The undercard of the Vic Darchinyan vs. Joseph Agbeko fight features two solid matches. However, in a terrible decision, Showtime has decided not to broadcast a battle between two former cruiserweight champions, one of whom is still very much in his prime, opting instead to show the DeMarco bout.

Cunningham vs. Braithwaite Preview
Steve Cunningham was supposed to take on Wayne Braithwaite in April. However, the fight is finally here and it’s a chance for Cunningham to get back in the ring for the first time since his close, hard fought loss to Tomasz Adamek. Cunningham is still the second best fighter in the cruiserweight division and he has great hand speed to go along with a complete offensive arsenal.
Big Truck Wayne Braithwaite was once considered one of the top cruiserweights in the world. That was four years and three losses ago however, and in the last two years he as only fought on one occasion. He has power in both hands, but expect him to have an extremely difficult time catching the speedy Cunningham.
If Enzo Maccarinelli was able to easily handle Braithwaite two years ago, Cunningham should not have much difficulty either unless he becomes especially careless. Look for Cunningham to open up in the middle rounds looking for the stoppage. Braithwaite’s corner will step in and stop the bout, saving their fighter and signaling a possible end to his professional boxing career. Cunningham TKO10.
Antonio DeMarco vs. Anges Adjaho
Antonio DeMarco is one of the brightest young stars in the lightweight division. He’s still only 23 years old, and he’s coming off a career best performance against former top contender Almazbek “Kid Diamond” Raiymkulov. Anges Adjaho is a step down from Kid Diamond, having fought only six fighters with winning records in his entire career. Expect DeMarco to shine and to start pouring it on early. DeMarco TKO5.
