Oscar De La Hoya is the latest to claim that Jake Paul’s victory over Mike Tyson was “scripted.”

De La Hoya was one of the millions who tuned in to witness Paul defeat former undisputed heavyweight champion, Tyson on points at AT&T Stadium in Texas last Friday.

After a bright start, Tyson, 58, struggled to produce anywhere close to his vintage prime, with ‘The Problem Child’ easing to a unanimous decision victory.

Many observers have since argued that ‘Iron Mike’ held back to ensure Paul emerged victorious, a view former six-weight world champion, De La Hoya concurs with.

“Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul, by it’s nature was a horrible fight,” the 51-year-old said during an episode of Clapback Thursday.

“Right from the start it was just awful.

“Mike almost fell down during his walkout and he was on quick sand since the first 10 seconds of the fight.

“It was wishful thinking for all those idiots who thought they were going to get Mike Tyson of the 90’s come out and rip someone’s head off.

“Everyone is talking about how staged this fight was.

“I do believe it was scripted and I believe that Tyson was certainly held back.

“I’m a fighter and I can see it. It goes on their record and it was sanctioned, so Jake Paul paid to get the W on his record, for what?

“For your own personal satisfaction?”

The bout attracted 60m households on streaming giant Netflix.

Paul has since been called out by undisputed light heavyweight champion, Artur Beterbiev and IBF heavyweight titlist, Daniel Dubois.

De La Hoya though quipped that the YouTuber-turned-boxer would instead look to face another older opponent.

“I keep telling you, if you want to be a real fighter like you say you want to be, what are you doing?,” he added.

“Who’s next?

“[82-year-old US President] Joe Biden?

“You have to fight real fighters.
