Eddie Hearn admits he would relish the prospect of seeing Anthony Joshua fight Jake Paul.

Hearn was in attendance to witness Paul defeat former undisputed heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson on points in Texas, as well as to see his charge Katie Taylor beat Amanda Serrano in their rematch on the undercard.

The 27-year-old, who made his debut at heavyweight, has been the subject of shock callouts from undisputed light heavyweight champion, Artur Beterbiev and IBF heavyweight titlist, Daniel Dubois since.

And Hearn, the career-long promoter of Joshua, says he’d love to see the Watford man tackle the YouTuber-turned-boxer, but concedes that ‘AJ’, who is coming off a fifth round stoppage defeat to Dubois, would be unlikely to accept a callout.

Asked what he’d do if Paul called out Joshua, Hearn told IFLTV: “I’d go to AJ and say, ‘do you want to do this?’

“I think the answer would be no, but we’d look at the money.

“I’d love to see AJ fight Jake Paul.”

A reported 60m households tuned in on Netflix to witness the Paul vs Tyson bout, which saw the latter end a near 20-year professional retirement at the AT&T Stadium.

Paul, who secured his 11th professional victory and his fifth since a sole professional loss to Tommy Fury, remained coy over his next opponent, but has remained linked to both Conor McGregor and Canelo Alvarez.

Alvarez has been consistently dismissive of a showdown with ‘The Problem Child’, however the Mexican star told media in May that he would be open to a conversation about a potential clash in two years.

Hearn, who has promoted three of Alvarez’s past six outings, believes Paul would have no chance of pulling off a major upset if they fought.

“Canelo makes it very clear,” the Matchroom boss added.

“It’s all about the money and the deal and if he’s going to make the kind of money that he would make to fight [David] Benavidez or [Dmitry] Bivol and it would be more than that, why wouldn’t he?

“I don’t know Jake, but I get the feeling that he’s competitive enough to one day go, ‘f*** it, let me try it with him.’

“He’s got to be bright enough to know that Canelo Alvarez absolutely destroys him, but I’d quite like to see it.”
