Fan Base Signs Off on Jesus Gonzales Facing Adonis Stevenson

Goonzales vs. Stevenson Now Official

Fan Base Promotions returned a signed contract Wednesday Night (2/25/12) signalling  that Jesus “El Martillo” Gonzales will indeed fight Adonis “Superman” Stevenson on February 18th  in Montreal at the Bell Centre. The reason for the  9 delay was twofold:

The first contract sent to Fan Base was filled with errors and was sent back to the Event Promoter for corrections.

The second reason is a bit more complicated. In 1998 Adonis Stevenson  committed a horrendous crime against humanity and was fined and confined for several years.  Fan Base, according to an inside source, was afraid a bout with Stevenson might offend some of Gonzales’ “socially conscious ” sponsors.

The “official” signing  ends Fan Base’s holdout and the PPV show will go on as previously announced.  A spokesperson for Fan Base refused to elaborate on Stevenson’s transgression; but, details of the incident were chronicled  in the Montreal  Gazette  in November 1998  and later archived. Confirmation of the Stevenson altercation can be confirmed with an in depth Google search.

Gonzales versus Stevenson has present and future title considerations. On the 18th, Stevenson’s IBF Intercontinental Super Middle Weight belt is at stake and the winner  gets a promised  shot at IBF Super Middleweight Champion Lucian Butte who fights out of Montreal. Stevenson (16-1) was born in Haiti and now lives in Quebec, Province. Gonzales, also a southpaw,  holds a record of 27-1 and the 27 year old  American hails from Phoenix, Arizona.
