Tyson Fury has remarkably opened the door to an unlikely showdown with former, bitter rival David Haye and believes the pair could sell out a stadium.

Fury and Haye had two scheduled fight dates in 2013 cancelled, with ‘The Hayemaker’ pulling out of both occasions through injury.

WBC heavyweight world champion, Fury is on course for an undisputed title meeting with unified WBA ‘super’, IBF and WBO king, Oleksandr Usyk in the spring after successfully defending his crown with a 10th round stoppage over Derek Chisora in their trilogy clash earlier this month.

‘The Gypsy King’ admits he would still entertain a clash with the now-retired Haye as well as fellow former rival David Price, who has also hung up his gloves.

A long-awaited meeting with Anthony Joshua is still on his hitlist.

“I think that a fight with the toe breaker [David Haye] would sell out [a stadium].” the 34-year-old said on IFLTV’s RAW The Fight Within Podcast.

“It’s got to do, hasn’t it?”

“He pulled out twice, didn’t he? Little s***house. Pulled out twice, once with an eye injury and once with a shoulder operation.

“I’m not sure how he looks at himself in the mirror in the morning.

“There is still three big rivalry fights in this country for me isn’t there? Even though they ain’t active or whatever. David Price. David Haye. Anthony Joshua.

“If you’re out there and I know you’re still out there and I know yous are still in the gym, there’s three mega British fights that would get the imagination of the United Kingdom flowing.”

Haye, 42, retired for the second time in 2018 after successive defeats to Tony Bellew, but did return for an exhibition bout against Joe Fournier in September 2021, in which he outclassed his long-time friend in Miami.

In his post-fight interview, the former two-weight world champion, called out Fury and insisted he would reverse his retirement decision for a shot against the undefeated Manchester man.

“There’s one fighter I’d come back to professional boxing for. That’s Tyson Fury.

“That big fat dosser, I know his kryptonite, I know what he can’t handle.

“He wants a fight? ‘The Hayemaker’ will come for you.

“When Tyson Fury really wants a challenge, the fans want to see it, the fans want to see Tyson Fury fighting someone who can knock him out.

“I know what his kryptonite is and he’s getting knocked out when we get in the ring.”
