HBO Boxing calendar has no fights after this weekend until October

HBO Boxing is set to take a nearly two month hiatus from showing any fight cards. In fact, longer than that, as this weekend’s telecast is actually a HBO Latino card.

After that, there’s nothing on regular HBO or any of the networks until October 3rd, when Lucas Matthysse returns. Two weeks later, HBO hosts a pay-per-view headlined by Gennady Golovkin vs. David Lemieux. The next week, Wladimir Klitschko faces Tyson Fury.

With other networks proliferating, is HBO falling short on available fights and fighters, or simply not willing to pay for lesser matches and promotions?
