Buatsi vs Hutchinson results: Willy Hutchinson took the vacant WBC light heavyweight title at the AO  Arena in Manchester, as the Scot took a points win in his rematch with Joshua Buatsi. Check out the Buatsi vs Hutchinson report below.

The pair met for the first time in September 2024, where Buatsi won the vacant interim WBO belt by knocking Hutchinson twice on the way to a split decision success.

Hutchinson has won twice since, while Buatsi lost to Callum Smith and then defeated Zach Parker by majority decision.

It was a competitive opener. However, Hutchinson established his right hand and his jab in round two.

Hutchinson was a step ahead, and Buatsi was slow to get going. Eventually, he came to life in the fifth, closing the distance and landing with right hands.

Rounds were going by without success for Buatsi, but he took advantage of some sloppiness from Hutchinson in the seventh, with the Scotsman eventually ending the frame strongly.

As a result, Buatsi needed something big going into the championship rounds. He worked well to the body in the 10th.

The Londoner had his best moments in the penultimate session, although it looked like he’d left his effort too late.
