HBO to honor Muhammad Ali on The Fight Game June 14th

HBO Sports will present a special edition of The Fight Game with Jim Lampley that explores in an in-depth fashion of the remarkable achievements and legendary of one of the most significant figures of sports in the 20th century: Muhammad Ali.

Touching on his impact in sports, culture and politics The Fight Game with Jim Lampley: A Tribute to Muhammad Ali debuts Tuesday June 14th, exclusively on HBO. The special will be hosted by the four-time Sports Emmy® winner, who has hosted HBO Boxing since joining the network in 1988.

The guest list for the special will be headlined by Hollywood icon Jack Nicholson, longtime friend of Muhammad Ali.

Without question, Muhammad Ali was a pivotal figure of the 20th century. His boxing talent and accomplishments along with his super-sized personality and self-promotion that propelled him into the consciousness of America and onto the world stage.

But was his activist role outside the ring that brought focus to race relations, religion and America’s military involvement in Viet Nam that elevated him to a groundbreaking platform. Muhammad Ali died at the age of 74 on June 3, 2016. He was buried in his hometown of Louisville, KY.
