Hedges vs Brown results: A brutal Pat Brown body shot secured him a sixth-round knockout win against John Hedges. The victory earned him the British and Commonwealth cruiserweight titles at Co-op Live in Manchester on Saturday.
Former Olympian Brown had never been past eight rounds. That came in April as he took a stoppage win against Vasil Ducar to take the IBF Intercontinental bauble. Hedges, meanwhile, hadn’t been seen in 2026, with his last bout coming in December last year, a points win over Ellis Zorro.
It didn’t all go Brown’s way early on in this one. He went for the finish almost from the off, but Hedges was smart. He used his footwork and clinches to negate the home favourite’s attacks.
Hedges worked well off his jab in the second, and landed a nice left hand in the third as he frustrated Brown, but after a scrappy fourth, the Sale cruiserweight came to life, as he utilised his jab.

Brown added the uppercut in to seal an impressive fifth, and that paved the way for the finish, as he piled on the pressure in the sixth. A volley of punches unravelled Hedges, as he sunk to the canvas.
The count wasn’t long enough, as a well-timed Brown body shot had Hedges on the deck again, and with his mouthpiece out, he failed to beat the count, handing the win to Brown.
Hedges suffered a first defeat as a professional, meanwhile promoter Eddie Hearn teased a potential future fight between Brown and Jai Opetaia.

Hedges vs Brown Results – Undercard
Following the Hedges vs Brown result, the undercard also delivered plenty of action at Co-op Live.
Shabaz Masoud did as he pleased to take the vacant IBF Intercontinental featherweight title, as he pitched a ten-round shutout win against Ckari Cani Mansilla.
Meanwhile, the crossroads clash at super middleweight went the way of Mark Jeffers, as he took a clear ten-round points win against Kieron Conway. Two scores of 97-93 and a third at 96-94 secured the win for Jeffers.
Elsewhere on the Hedges vs Brown fight card, the vacant English lightweight title was claimed by Cory O’Regan, with the Leeds native banking a points victory against Joe Howarth. One tally of 99-91 and two at 98-92 confirmed a dominant win.

In eight-round contests, Alfie Middlemiss took a first early win, as the featherweight forced Christopher Mondongo to retire after four rounds of battle.
Middleweight prospect Tom Rafferty remained unbeaten, halting Liam Walsh in two rounds, while at super featherweight, Garan Croft blasted out Mohammed Graich inside a round.
Rounding off the Hedges vs Brown results, in six-rounders, Jack Power won every round against Victor Ionascu in their middleweight meeting, while bantamweight hope Emily Whitworth did the same against Beata Dudek.
