The fall fight schedule is beginning to fill up, as a handful of bouts have been announced or rumored to be finalized over the past week or so. The list includes the next title defense for Wladimir Klitschko, a long awaited junior middleweight showdown between two fighters on the search for more lucrative opportunities, and the debut event for TMT Promotions, headlined by Yuriorkis Gamboa and Andre Dirrell. Read on for more details.

Fall Fights to Add to the Boxing Schedule

Klitschko vs. Wach

Wladimir Klitschko will return to Hamburg, Germany on November 10th to take on undefeated Polish heavyweight Mariusz Wach. Wach has an impressive 27-0 record with 15 KOs, however, what is unimpressive is his complete lack of noteworthy opposition. While building up that undefeated resume, the most “noteworthy” opponents he has faced includes Jason Gavern, Kevin McBride and Tye Fields.

However, one intriguing component to the fight is Wach’s physical presence. He is 6-foot-7 with an 82-inch reach, and weighs about 245 lbs when he’s in shape. That actually gives him a slight height and reach advantage over Wladimir, although, it shouldn’t bother the heavyweight kingpin too much.

Lara vs. Martirosyan

Erislandy Lara and Vanes Martirosyan have agreed to an eliminator fight on November 10th, with the winner becoming the mandatory to face Saul “Canelo” Alvarez for his WBC junior middleweight title strap. Both of these guys have been clamoring for bigger fights, although clearly Lara has done more to actually get in the ring and prove his worth than Martirosyan has. It’s an intriguing clash of styles, and I’d hope it leads to a Canelo vs. Lara showdown in the future. If Manny Pacquiao ends up fighting on that date, this bout would appear on the undercard.

TMT Promotions First Fight Card on November 17

Floyd Mayweather and 50 Cent’s TMT Promotions will put together its inaugural fight card on November 17, potentially televised on Showtime. The card will feature two of their big acquisitions, Yuriorkis Gamboa and Andre Dirrell. Gamboa would move up to super featherweight to challenge Juan Carlos Salgado for his IBF 130 lbs strap, and Dirrell would meet Brian Magee as he seeks to work himself back into the super middleweight mix. Both are fights that the name fighters, Gamboa and Dirrell, would be expected to win, but they’re not meaningless pushovers, either. It will be interesting to see if this fight card gets finalized and gets televised on Showtime or not.
