Cinco de Mayo Weekend just got more caliente ahead of Canelo Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) vs. Amir “King” Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) on Saturday, May 7. As a special treat for all Las Vegas boxing fans, Golden Boy Promotions will present a free night of outdoor boxing on Friday, May 6 at the Toshiba Plaza adjacent to the T-Mobile Arena. Fans will get to see Canelo and Khan face off for the final time during their official weigh-in immediately followed by a night of fights starting at 4:00 p.m. PT.
For fight fans watching the festivities from home, Estrella TV will present a special three hour broadcast of boxing with the main event featuring Tijuana knockout artist and former lightweight world title challenger Marvin “Cachorro” Quintero (28-6, 24 KOs). He will defend his NABF Lightweight Title against current NABA Lightweight Champion Petr “Zar” Petrov (36-4-2, 17 KOs) of Ryazan, Russia in a 10-round winner-takes-all event.
In the televised co-main event, Mexican warrior and former WBA Interim Super Lightweight World Champion Pablo Cesar “El Demoledor” Cano (29-4-1, 21 KOs) will take on the resilient Alan Sanchez (17-3-1, 9 KOs) of Fairfield, Calif.in 10 rounds of guaranteed excitement for the vacant WBC Continental Americas Welterweight Title. Opening the televised Estrella TV broadcast, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico’s Horacio “Violento” Garcia (30-1-0, 22 KOs) is scheduled to participate in a 10-round super bantamweight fight against an opponent to be announced shortly.

Part of the non-televised card but still streaming live on Ring TV, Oscar “Ratón” Cortes (25-2, 13 KOs) of Zapopan, Mexico will participate in an eight-round lightweight clash and fan favorite Joet Gonzalez (12-0, 6 KOs) of Glendora, CA will go up against Chihuahua, Mexico’s Ricardo “Cepillo” Proano (11-3, 9 KOs) in a six-round featherweight bout. Leaving behind a highly decorated amateur career, Santa Ana, Calif.’s Alexis Rocha (1-0) has the entire boxing world buzzing as he fights professionally for the second time in a four-round super welterweight bout. Opponents will be announced shortly.
