Randy Caballero Set to Fight for 7th Straight Time at Fantasy Springs Casino on Dec 2nd

With a perfect 7-0 record in Coachella-valley’s hottest boxing venue, hometown hero Randy Caballero has made Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif. a place few junior featherweights dare to enter on fight night. On Friday, December 2, Puerto Rico’s Arturo Santiago will step up to the challenge with every intention of taking Caballero’s WBC Youth Intercontinental title in the main event of TeleFutura’s “Solo Boxeo Tecate.”

A charismatic young man with the talent to match his growing fan-base, 21-year-old Randy Caballero (12-0, 7 KO’s) has achieved the rare feat of developing a hometown following that supports him each time he steps between the ropes. A former national amateur champion who won over 160 bouts, Coachella’s Caballero has dazzled fans at Fantasy Springs, where he has fought his last six fights. He has defeated fellow prospects Felix Perez and Sergio Cristobal in 2011 and made his biggest statement in July when he nearly shut out unbeaten Alexis Santiago. On Dec. 2, he plans on giving his fans an early Christmas present when he defends his WBC Youth Intercontinental title in his first televised main event.

Hailing from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, 25-year-old Arturo Santiago (7-3-1, 4 KO’s) has been a professional for four years and is looking to shake things up this December by pinning a loss on Caballero’s perfect record. 6-0-1 in his first seven bouts, “Sonic” had a few bumps along the way, but his April win over unbeaten Kadel Martinez was a clear sign that this up-and-comer is back on track and ready for whatever his opponent has in store for him. On Dec. 2, he’ll get the chance to prove he is ready against one of boxing’s most highly touted prospects in Caballero.

Caballero vs. Santiago, an eight round bout for Caballero’s WBC Youth Intercontinental Junior Featherweight Championship, is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and is sponsored by Cerveza Tecate, AT&T and DeWalt Tools. Doors open at 7:00pm PT on fight night and the first bell rings at 8:00pm PT. The TeleFutura broadcast begins at 12:30Am ET/PT (11:30pm CT).

Fans at home can also be part of the action by participating in Cinturón Tecate and voting for the fighter in the main event who displayed the most character in the ring by sending a text message to 55333. Voting will be open through the end of the weekend.

Tickets, priced at $25, $35 and $45, are on sale now and available for purchase at the Fantasy Springs Box Office, by calling (800) 827-2946 or online at www.fantasyspringsresort.com.
