Ryan Garcia Brands Rival “Arrogant” & “Boring As S***”

Ryan Garcia laid into a potential future opponent this week.

Ryan Garcia will look to bounce back from his April defeat to Gervonta Davis next weekend when he takes on Oscuar Duarte in Texas.

However, Garcia’s attention was this week briefly turned away from Duarte to another fighter in and around his weight – and he did not hold back

Despite winning and become a three weight world champion, Shakur Stevenson came under heavy criticism for his performance against Edwin De Los Santos last Thursday night, which broke records for all the wrong reasons.

And in a recent interview with BoxingScene, Garcia claimed Stevenson “walks around like his s*** don’t stink” and branded him “arrogant

“Shakur, he’s been getting on my nerves since the amateurs. He’s so arrogant, and I don’t say that about nobody.”

“But man, he just walks around like his sh!t don’t stink. And he talks sh!t about everybody and thinks he’s some type of dude who knows everything about boxing. Well, if you knew everything about boxing, then why the hell did you not get to [De Los Santos].”

“He was scared of him and didn’t throw any punches … he has to humble himself a little bit … you’re boring as sh*t, and everybody knows it. That was boring. That was the best night of sleep I’ve ever had.”

Should a fight between Stevenson and Garcia ever get made in the future, the build up is bound to be entertaining after such scathing comments.

‘King Ry,’ however, can ill afford to take his eye off comeback opponent Oscar Duarte this weekend, as a second consecutive defeat would surely cause irreparable damage to his reputation.

Garcia fell short against Gervonta Davis earlier this year, though claimed he was handicapped by the catchweight of 136lbs as well as the 10lb rehydration clause imposed by Davis’ team.

Now up at a healthier weight of 140lbs, all eyes will be on the Toyota centre on December 2nd to see if the 25 year old truly has the minerals to mix it with the best.
