Solo Boxeo Looks Back at Guerrero, Escobedo & Matthysse Fights on Friday

Classic Fights on Solo Boxeo Friday:

This Friday night, October 29, TeleFutura will take a look back at some of the most impressive performances of several fighters with pivotal fights approaching this fall when it airs past fights of Lucas Matthysse, Robert Guerrero and Vicente Escobedo on a special Classics edition of “Sólo Boxeo Tecate.”

The special presentation of “Sólo Boxeo Tecate” is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate and will air on TeleFutura at 11:30pm ET / PT (10:30pm CT).

Just eight days before he steps into the ring with former World Champion Zab Judah at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, Argentinean powerhouse Lucas Matthysse (27-0, 25 KO’s) will be shown at his ferocious best in a fight in which delivered a blistering first round knockout over veteran Rogelio Castaneda in a bout that took place on August 27.

The battle between former Two-Division World Champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (27-1-1, 18 KO’s) and 2004 U.S. Olympian Vicente Escobedo (22-2, 14 KO’s) on the Judah-Matthysse undercard is one with significant implications for the lightweight division, and “Sólo Boxeo Tecate” will feature fights of both these top contenders in anticipation of next week’s showdown.  The broadcast will look back at Guerrero’s exciting April 30, 2010 win over Roberto David Arrieta in Guerrero’s comeback fight following taking time away from the ring to care for his ailing wife, as well as one of Escobedo’s most exciting victories, his September 26, 2008 thriller against Dominic Salcido.

Making a big show even bigger, the broadcast will also feature a look at the future of boxing with East Los Angeles knockout artist Frankie Gomez (7-0, 6 KO’s) in his April 30win over Ricardo Malfavon.
