Super Middleweight Rankings Updated After Froch vs. Kessler Results

Mikkel Kessler and Carl Froch put on a fantastic fight on Saturday night. Kessler won the WBC super middleweight crown in the process, and took Froch’s undefeated record. He also made a statement that he is far from finished, and he still has a great shot at winning the Super Six tournament. In the bout he used his superior technical skills and some aggressive strategies to win the day, he also worked behind his strong, quick jab, and countered excellently when it was appropriate. So where do these two now stand in the Super Six and in the Super Middleweight division?

Kessler clearly made a statement, but how high did he rise in the rankings? What about Lucian Bute, who has been dominant lately but is not competing in the Super Six? And how far does Carl Froch fall, a more difficult question to consider when you factor in his close bout against Andre Dirrell, and Dirrell’s controversial bout against Arthur Abraham. You can see it all for yourself at our rankings page.
