The wait is finally over. Jack Culcay will step into the ring inside the o2 World Berlin, Germany and will take on Frederic Serre (13-6, 3 KOs) from France to fight it out for the WBA Junior-Middleweight Intercontinental Championship on August 25. “I am very excited to be fighting for my first professional title,” said “Golden” Jack, whose nickname stems from winning the Amateur World Championships 2009 in Milan. He was the first German boxer to win gold after 14 years.

Since then the 26-year-old, who was raised in Darmstadt, Germany but now lives in Hamburg, Germany, has stepped into the ring eleven times as a pro. He won every one of them, seven by KO and has consequently risen to number twelve in the WBA rankings. Culcay his last bout was against the Italian Salvatore Annunziata at the Porsche-Arena in Stuttgart, Germany on February 25. He ended the fight early by technical knockout in round seven.

Culcay: “Since then, I have been preparing myself for the next fight. I can’t wait to be inside the ring and fight Serre.”

The “Golden Boy” was supposed to fight in Hamburg on July 14, but due to the cancelation of the event, Culcay had to be patient and continue with his work in the gym, in order to stay in shape for the Berlin bout. “That doesn’t really bother me. Now I can show off my abilities inside a huge arena and in front of a huge crowd,” said the junior-middleweight.

The main event of the evening on August 25 will be the fight between Robert Stieglitz and Arthur Abraham. The two Germans will fight it out for the WBO Super-Middleweight Title.
