Last June, when Victor Ortiz took on Josesito Lopez, “Vicious” Victor was penciled in for a fight against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez… as long as he could get past Lopez. Not so fast. Lopez, already known as one of the upset kings in the sport, took the fight to Ortiz, eventually breaking his jaw and his will, and winning the fight via stoppage, punching his own ticket to face Canelo in a big money bout.
