Cejudo vs Walton: “Shoot your shot. Don’t be afraid.” This was Lauren Blake’s advice when asked her advice on becoming a prominent broadcaster in boxing.
On Saturday, Lauren Blake Boultier will host undoubtedly the biggest event of her career, as Henry Cejudo tackles Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton on the main event of a Misfits Boxing card in Miami.
Blake, 31, will be lead host on the DAZN broadcast for Cejudo vs Walton.
Having worked as a behind-the-scenes reporter on events such as Xander Zayas vs Jaron Ennis in June, the American has now stepped into the main role, but insists she is relishing the opportunity.
“There’s always a tiny bit of nerves as you’re going in,” she told proboxing-fans.com.
“But that’s pretty normal across the board. But I absolutely love being able to talk to the fighters, talks to the fans and have those conversations where you can be curious.
“I really do enjoy the process of hosting so much that the second I start talking the nerves completely disappear and then it feels natural.”
The road to Cejudo vs Walton
Walton steps in at late-notice to face former two-division UFC champion, Cejudo.
Cejudo was scheduled to face influencer Deen The Great, however the American withdrew through injury.
Walton is signed to Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions and is 3-0-1 as a professional.
Meanwhile, Cejudo will make his professional boxing debut at the James Knight Convention Center – a milestone that adds extra intrigue to Cejudo vs Walton.

“Kind of a wildcard fight,” Blake said.
“It’s an absurd match-up anyway.
“We had a drop out two weeks before the fight and Wanna Walton steps up, who is an interesting prospect to match up against Henry Cejudo. But that’s what is going to make it really entertaining to tune into.”
In a highly-competitive and male-dominated space, Lauren Blake – who will front Saturday’s Cejudo vs Walton broadcast – is looking to break more boundaries. The entrepreneur founded the electrolyte drink Hydra Powers and has amassed an Instagram following of over 1.5m.
Blake’s advice to aspiring female broadcasters is simple: “Shoot your shot.
“Talk to the right people. Don’t be afraid to get in front of the camera and show them what you’ve got.
“Poke at people for opportunities, because if you really want something so bad and you chase it hard enough, you can get it.
“Know your stuff. You have to study the stats. You have to do your homework.”
Cejudo vs Walton will begin at 11pm BST/6pm ET/3pm PT. The undercard includes former UFC star Tony Ferguson against Kenzo Biyong.
