The June 6 edition of ESPN Friday Night Fights will feature Jr. Middleweights Yudel “La Sopresa” Jhonson (15-1, 9 KOs) and “El Demonio” Norberto González (20-3, 13 KOs) in the 10-round main event. Friday’s show, from Turning Stone Casino in Verona, N.Y., will air live at 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Both fighters will be celebrating their 33rd birthday when they meet each other this Friday. The card is promoted by Mike Tyson’s Iron Mike Productions.

Main Event:

Florida’s Jhonson, a 2004 Olympic silver medalist, is coming off an eight-round unanimous decision win over Lenwood Dozier, while González, who hails from Mexico, is looking to rebound from a February 10-round split decision loss to Roberto García on Friday Night Fights.

“Norberto Gonzalez is a good fighter, and I respect him very much,” Jhonson said. “The most important thing that I’ve worked on for this fight is my explosivity, and that’s what defines Yudel Jhonson…I’ve been training very hard, and I can’t wait to showcase it on June 6th.”

Co-Feature:

Friday’s eight-round co-feature will pit undefeated Welterweight Sammy “The Who Can Mexican” Vásquez (14-0, 10 KOs) of Pennsylvania against New Orleans’ “Smokin’” Jay Krupp (17-6, 8 KOs). Vásquez is looking to continue his winning ways after scoring a first-round knockout over previously undefeated Juan Rodríguez in his last fight, while Krupp is looking to score a victory following an eight-round unanimous decision loss to Sadam Ali.

Opening Fight:
Friday’s telecast will open with a six-round bout between undefeated Super Middleweight Ievgen Khytrov (4-0, 4 KOs) and Chris Chatman (11-3-1, 5 KOs).
