King Arthur Abraham’s hotly-anticipated ring return has electrified German boxing fans.

While a crowd of 1,000 people attended Sunday’s open work-out at the Europapark Rust, all 4,000 tickets for Saturday’s fight against Pablo Farias (19-1, 11 KOs) have been sold.

“I am very grateful for the support of the fans,” King Arthur (32-3, 26 KOs) said. “I will put on a great show. 2012 will be a big year for me. I want to be world champion again.”

In the co-featured main event at Offenburg’s Baden-Arena, WBO Super-Middleweight Champion Robert Stieglitz (40-2, 23 KOs) will put his title on the line against Henry Weber (15-0-1, 3 KOs). “Weber is young and hungry but I will defend my title,” Stieglitz said.

For Abraham, it’s his first fight since his disappointing Super Six stretch. His tournament ran began positively, with a dominant KO win over Jermain Taylor. However, he then lost three straight fights in the Super Six, including blowout losses to Carl Froch and Andre Ward, and his disqualification loss to Andre Dirrell. Abraham will be looking to boost his confidence and regain some momentum en route to another title.
