Daniel Dubois’ next fight will come in the new year following his destruction of Fabio Wardley in their rematch on Saturday. A Filip Hrgovic rematch could be next.

Dubois battered Wardley into submission inside two brutal rounds at the O2 Arena.

With that, the Londoner retained his WBO heavyweight world title for the first time.

Now, Daniel Dubois’ next fight is set to take place in February, according to the 29-year-old’s promoter Frank Warren.

“He’ll fight in February,” Warren told talkSPORT.

“He’ll be in a big fight and he wants big fights, because he tells me he wants to earn lots of money.

“The only way you earn lots of money, you’ve got to be in big fights.”

Dubois Hrgovic rematch?

Dubois came face-to-face with a potential next opponent, IBF heavyweight world champion, Filip Hrgovic. The Croatian returned to the O2 Arena for the first time since his shock win over Moses Itauma in August.

The IBF champion suffered his first professional defeat to the Brit in 2024.

Warren admits Daniel Dubois’ next fight could be a unification against Hrgovic or WBC champion Agit Kabayel in a unification.

However, Kabayel must first defeat Nelson Hysa in Germany on November 28 before Dubois vs Kabayel can happen.

“We’ve got a big show in Germany on the 28th November,” Warren added.

“Where the WBC heavyweight champion Agit Kabayel is fighting Nelson Hysa. We’re up to 43,000 tickets sold for that show.

“Let’s see the outcome of that, because that would be a great unification fight.

“Filip Hrgovic wants a rematch, because Daniel already has a win over him. That’s the only loss on his record.”

Meanwhile, Hrgovic is likely to have a homecoming bout in Croatia before a Dubois Hrgovic rematch.

Despite losing their first bout, Hrgovic believes he would secure a decisive win if he becomes Dubois’ next opponent.

“I will stop him definitely,” he told Pro Boxing Fans. “I almost stopped him in the first fight.

“In the first fight I was sick, I was injured, I was cut since round one. He was headbutting me.

“I will destroy him in the next fight.”
