Harlem Eubank returned at the Brighton Centre after defeat last time out, and did as he pleased in a points win at welterweight against Josh Wagner on Friday.
Eubank (22-1, 9 KOs) went in with Jack Catterall in July in Manchester, and lost for the first time, while Canada’s Wagner (19-2, 10 KOs) was last in action over six rounds in May, stopping Juvenal Herrera inside a round in Colombia.
After a feeling-out first couple of rounds where Eubank was in the ascendancy, the home fighter started to turn the screw, with the visitor struggling to land anything of note.
The 31-year-old stepped up the pressure in the fourth, and Wagner just didn’t have any answers allowing Eubank to use his movement to bank yet another session.
The pattern had been set, and although Eubank caught a couple of shots in the seventh and eighth, he weathered the storm, and Wagner then faded in the closing rounds as the Brighton man coasted to the finish line and victory.
Two scores of 100-90 and a third at 99-91 reflected Eubank’s dominance.
Eubank called for clashes with the winner of Saturday’s WBO welterweight clash between Brian Norman Jr and Devin Haney and IBF champion, Lewis Crocker, who was ringside.
Roehrig sees off Clavier
Lucas Roehrig took a 78-72 win in his cruiserweight meeting with Brice Clavier.
Roehrig (7-0, 3 KOs) dropped Clavier (13-7-1, 7 KOs) in the fourth round with a body shot, but had to come through some tricky moments to secure the victory.
Remaining Undercard
In eight rounders, Niall Brown (17-0, 6 KOs) settled for a points win against Pierre Rosadini (8-8-3).
Kieran Molloy (13-0, 7 KOs) remained unbeaten with a points win against Zeuz Varguez Soberanis (11-6, 5 KOs) at welterweight, and at super featherweight, Codie Smith (8-0-1) did the same against Franco Andres Cajal (7-6-1, 2 KOs).
The sole six-rounder was at heavyweight, where Harvey Dykes (7-0-1) secured a points win against Viktar Chvarkou (6-29, 3 KOs).

In four-round action, Yuvraj Karia (8-0, 4 KOs) won on points against Brandon Gallardo Vargas (3-11-1, 1 KO) at bantamweight.
At welterweight Yones Baati (4-0, 3 KOs) went the distance for the first time, overcoming Ezequiel Gregores (3-28).
Debutant Saqib Mehmood (1-0) started professional life with a points win against Jayro Fernando Duran (15-42-1, 14 KOs) at lightweight.
