Ryan Garcia has not got “anything” to be concerned about when he faces Conor Benn next month, according to former undisputed super lightweight champion, Josh Taylor.
Garcia makes a first defence of his WBC welterweight world title against Benn at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on September 12.
Benn will fight at 147 pounds for the first time in over four years, with his last bout contested at 150 pounds against Regis Prograis, which he won by unanimous decision in April.
And Taylor feels based on the Brit’s last outing, ‘King Ry’ won’t have too much trouble retaining his belt.
“Boxing ability-wise, I think Ryan Garcia probably knocks him out,” the 35-year-old told Boxing News.

“I just think Ryan Garcia is the better boxer.
“He’s quicker, he’s sharper, he’s got more experience in the game.
“Conor Benn has done well, he has improved a hell of a lot.
“He is quick, he is strong.
“He’s bigger and stronger than Ryan Garcia, but going off that last performance [against Prograis], I don’t think Garcia has got anything to worry about.
“I think Garcia probably knocks him out after that last performance.”

The American captured the title with a dominant points victory over Mario Barrios in February.
Benn was ringside for the fight and has vowed to make his rival quit.
“You’ve quit once… I’ll make you quit again!” the 29-year-old posted on X.

“Can’t teach heart!
“See you September 12th.”

The pair had to be separated after almost coming to blows at a press conference last month in New York to promote their eagerly-anticipated clash.
‘The Destroyer’ has confirmed this will be his final fight at welterweight.
“The weight cut’s brutal, man,” he told SunSport.

“It’s hard. It’s very hard.
“This will be my last fight at 147, for sure.”
