Anthony Joshua has fuelled speculation of a potential change of trainer, ahead of his long-awaited showdown with Tyson Fury.
Joshua is on course to meet long-time rival Fury in November, with New York reportedly the frontrunner to stage their mega fight.
‘AJ’ has been training with Oleksandr Usyk’s team for his last two bouts after leaving Ben Davison.
The 36-year-old was floored twice by Kristian Prenga last month, before roaring back to stop the Albanian in the second round.
The two-time heavyweight world champion has fuelled talk of a potential return to Derrick James, who trained him for his victories over Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius in 2023.
‘AJ’ posted a photo of himself alongside James in Texas, with the caption: “Great catching up with @derrickdjames1.
“Any good boxer can win a fight.
“A respected man wins trust.”
Joshua’s victory over Prenga came one day after Fury forced Mariusz Wach to retire on his stool in a low-key bout in Thailand.
The pair have signed to fight each other, but a date and location remains up in the air.
Reports this week have suggested their battle is headed to Madison Square Garden in New York, with November 20 a potential date.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn remains adamant the fight should be staged in the UK.
“I really feel strongly that this is something that should happen in the UK and we’ll do all we can,” Hearn told Sky Sports.
“We’re up against it.
“It seems like everybody else has agreed but Anthony Joshua.
“He feels a little bit of responsibility to UK fight fans as well, and he’s doing everything he can to give them what they want.
“We’re ready to go in November, so there’s no reason for this fight to be delayed.

“We will try and make it as financially unviable as possible to do this fight in the US, so that hopefully they just turn around and say, ‘okay, let’s just do it in the UK’.
“Apparently, [New York] is the entertainment capital of the world.
“Who cares? It’s two Brits and the biggest fight in the British boxing history.
“But I understand business.”
